In the Summer of 2009, the new First Tee of Harrisonburg-Rotary Learning Center building was completed. The building is located at Heritage Oaks Golf Course, Harrisonburg’s own public course.
It features four hitting bays, one of which has a mounted camera to help with golf instruction. The hitting bays are covered which allows First Tee to run their programs year round.
Fine Earth LLC was one of numerous companies and organizations that donated their time and efforts to complete this project. Fine Earth provided a few shade trees and some foundation plantings including trees, shrubs, and perennials. Fine Earth also graded and seeded the disturbed areas around the site. The Fine Earth crew had only one day to finish up their scope of work. This project would normally take 2 to 3 days to complete. The labor and materials provided by Fine Earth for this project was around $6,000. The final product added to the aesthetics of the building.
First Tee’s mission is ‘to impact the lives of youth in our community and to use golf as a means to help develop the character and leadership skills of our youth’. Fine Earth appreciates what First Tee has done for the local community and was extremely happy to be able to help out on this project.
