Chad Layman founded Fine Earth in 1995 after working in the landscaping industry for four years. He plays a critical role in estimating jobs, managing projects, and fine-tuning the sales process so that the business continues to grow and thrive. Chad graduated from James Madison University in 1995 with a degree in Accounting. Since founding Fine Earth, Harrisonburg organizations have regularly recognized Chad and the Fine Earth team for contributions to nonprofits and the local business community. His favorite part of the job is working with customers to create a beautiful, functional outdoor living space that works for their homes and family. Our customers love working with Chad because he makes sure they feel heard through each step of the process and works with integrity to deliver a quality landscaping project each and every time. In his free time, Chad enjoys hiking with his German Shepherds, riding motorcycles, traveling and reading.
Stacy Farley has worked in the landscaping industry since 1996 and has been with Fine Earth since 2002. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and has multiple certifications associated with his landscaping career. Stacy plays a critical role in managing our team’s day-to-day operations and the company’s hardscaping division. He also helps to estimate and design residential and commercial projects and currently serves as our Safety Coordinator. Stacy’s favorite part of the job is working with people, including his team and clients, to coordinate projects that transform local properties. As an experienced landscape and hardscape designer, he accounts for each element of the project, including aesthetics and water flow, to ensure your investment lasts. When he’s not on the job, Stacy enjoys spending time with his family watching sports, hiking and reading.
Kathy Sizemore is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who has been with Fine Earth since 1998. She’s a graduate of Bridgewater College and brings 29 years of experience in the accounting field to her role within the company. We value her strong skill set and expertise in managing what goes on behind the scenes at Fine Earth. Kathy loves working with our team to support their accounting and HR needs; they’ve become like family after so many years. When she’s not busy working, she enjoys spending time with her grandson, Asher, traveling and hiking.
