Community

A Landscaping Company That Cares About Community.

Fine Earth is a landscaping company committed to the Harrisonburg community we know and love. Since 1995, we’ve fostered strong relationships with the people, businesses and nonprofits that support the Friendly City community. If you have an organization that needs a little love, please contact our team and we’ll see how we can help.

Going Above & Beyond For Our Community.

We’re proud to sponsor and host events that help individuals and organizations in our community. Check out some of our favorite projects:

Friendly City Fortune Raffle

In 2020, we supported Harrisonburg’s Downtown Renaissance with a $5,000 gift certificate to be used as a raffle item for the Friendly City Raffle. Our donation will be used to build a new park in Harrisonburg.

Fine Earth Adventure Race

Between 2016 and 2018, we hosted the Fine Earth Adventure Race with the Harrisonburg Police Department. Most of the proceeds from the race were donated to K9s for Warriors, an organization that trains service dogs for military veterans. Smaller donations were also made to the Harrisonburg Police Department and the Specialist Trevor Banks Foundation, a local nonprofit that supports military veterans in the Shenandoah Valley.

Arbor Day

We partnered with the Shenandoah Valley Builders Association to create the Arbor Day program. Between 2010 and 2011, we worked together to provide lasting improvements to selected sites in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

First Tee

We proudly donated $6,000 worth of plants and labor to landscape First Tee of the Shenandoah Valley. We planted shade trees, shrubs and perennials and graded and seeded the disturbed areas after installation. This important organization uses golf to help area youth develop lifelong skills like discipline, teamwork and perseverance.

Welcome Home Garden

The Welcome Home Garden provides a space to invite members of our community back to the area after serving in the military, as a missionary or with a foreign aid organization. We worked with Earthtones to design and install this beautiful addition to the downtown Harrisonburg community.

A Dream Come True Park

It was an honor to contribute to A Dream Come True Park, the first handicapped accessible park in Harrisonburg. We proudly worked with the Shenandoah Valley Builders Association and the Harrisonburg Parks & Recreation Department to locate the park site, design and install it at a cost of $45,000. Now, all children can enjoy a safe and accessible park experience.

The Giving Garden

The Giving Garden is a place for quiet reflection at Lacey Spring Elementary School. We designed and installed their new courtyard as part of our Arbor Day project. Students at the school have lovingly maintained the space ever since.

You always made me feel like my small project was as important to you as all of the larger ones. Your company’s customer service and customer relations approach is simply excellent! I found you personally just wonderful to work with. I value your knowledgeable advice but I also appreciated that you took into consideration my own requests and preferences. In short – thanks for the excellent job! I will sing the praises of Fine Earth whenever I can.
